Do I need a lawyer for my Illinois Workers’ Compensation Case?
This is a question that I get asked frequently during my 20 years of practice. The short answer is no, you do not need an attorney to represent you in an Illinois Workers Compensation Case. But if you don’t have an attorney representing you, there is a good chance that you are not getting all the benefits you are entitled to under the law.
Before you settle your workers compensation case, you will be required to go before the Arbitrator to approve the settlement contract. At that Hearing the Insurance Company will have an attorney there representing their interest to make sure that they are protected. Don’t you think it’s a good idea to have an attorney at that hearing representing your interest?
